Psych101 - Website
This project was a semester's worth of work for the course Computer Graphics and Production at Lansing Community College. All elements were designed specifically for this project over the course of the term.
As a previous Psychology student, I felt it was time to combine my old life with my new life. Thus, this web site was born.
It is meant to be a condensed version of what is often covered in introductory Psychology courses. I gathered information from several sources, all of which are cited for each section.
Each lesson has a quiz designed in Flash to review the information covered.

Hope Network - Ad
This project began as an assignment for one of my classes utilizing the clipping mask features of Adobe Photoshop. After the assigmnment was finished I kept going back to this thinking “Something more should be done with this.”
I am a huge fan of PostSecret. The website hosts not only a variety of personal secrets, but a collection of really interesting artwork. Frank, the owner of the site, always has a short bit of text or message from someone who has been helped by the National Hopeline Network. I thought that this image would make a wonderful ad for that suicide prevention hotline.

Michigan Living - Flash Presentation
This animation was created for the Michigan Civil Service Commission as an advertisement piece for their employment information site.
The creative process for this piece spanned several months of meeting with Executive Office personnel to determine the overall tone and message now seen in the piece.
Images are a mix of photos provided by various state departments and stock photography as well as stock music purchased by the department.
The animation is the sole property of the Michigan Civil Service Commission and is provided via the link to their website at left.

Hillsdale Schools - Wallpaper/Logo Recolor
View Original Logo | View Recolored Logo | View WallpaperI was commissioned by a friend of mine who happens to be the Network Adminstrator for Hillsdale schools to re-work their logo and create a series of wallpapers to be used in their computer labs.
They were unhappy with the bright color tones on their classic logo and asked that it be modernized slightly.
I used a darker tone of the yellow and blue, and provided multiple wallpaper options. The choice pictured was the final one chose to be used in the labs and on all school owned equipment.

Photo Restorations
View RestorationsBoth restoration peices provided were personal projects. The first was a christmas present for a former roommate's family. The second was a gift for my own family, and is a restoration of a picture of my grandmother taken durning World War II.
Restoration work can be a fine tuned science. Trying to maintain the integrity of the original image as well as enhance what you can do make it sharp and crisp can be very difficult. This challenge and balance is what I enjoy most about restoration work. The look on someone's face when you give them a fixed version of a family heirloom is a wonderful reward.
Restoration work completed using:

Photo Retouching
View Retouch ExamplesRetouching photos is one of my favorite lunch break activities. Much like restoration it is a fine art, and very easy to overdo. I make it my personal goal to never change a person's appearance drastically with retouching, only enhance color, texture and overall appeal of the original photograph.

Movie Quote Madness - Flash Game
I thought this game was going to be the end of me several times during it’s creation. It was a labor of love (and desire to pass my Game Design class).
Conceptually it is a twist on classic card matching games. In this case your goal is to match a movie quote to the movie poster artwork for the film.
Throw in the twist that you only get one minute to do so and it is a true test of movie quote knowledge.

Marty & Brianna - Wedding Website
Visit WebsiteWhen my best friend told me he was getting married, being the dork I am, I decided to take it upon myself to purchase the happy couple their own domain and design their wedding website.
Design pieces and coloring was designed with the couple's wedding vegas location in mind.

Monarch Madness - Website
Similar in theory to the Psych 101 web site, this site was meant to be educational and engaging.
The site was my final project submission for LCC's Computer Graphics/Web Design course. Project parameters were open to personal choice. I chose butterflies, specifically Monarchs, as they are a personal favorite.
My personal goal for this site was to provide information in a less sterile manor than one is used to with a traditional encyclopedia. However, I did not want to site to appear too whimsical or childish

Due to the sensitive nature of much of the data displayed and utilized, I cannot display nor link to the applications I have developed for MCSC.
If interested in the specifics regarding these applications contact me. I would be happy to discuss them in more detail.
The majority of applications developed have been conversions from classic asp to asp.net using a visual basic and SQL server backend.Applications developed utitlize:
