I'm surprised I wasn't born with a keyboard in my hands. My father is an avid techie, always tinkering with something. He's the reason I was able to build my first computer out of spare parts in his workshop as a kid. Nerdery is apparently genetic. Thanks, Dad.

I started my love affair with web design at the tender age of 14. Granted, back then web design was not much more than a choice between FrontPage and Notepad (my personal favorite). It began with the desire to start a fan page for my favorite MTV cartoon, Daria, spawned my username that's been with me ever since, and took countless hours of sleep from my teenage years. Well worth it, I think.

It's a Sick Sad World was a part of my daily life for approximately three years. The site was one of the most popular Daria websites for it's time, earning several awards and a regular fan base. It came to a close just in time for me to start college, seeking the degree in Psychology I'd planned on getting since I was 12. After a four year stint studying Psychology it became clear to me that my true passion was, is, and probably always will be to hang out in front of a computer, coding and making pretties. I'll take Photoshop over Freud any day, thanks.

The decision to pursue what was once a hobby as a career led me back to Lansing Community College to achieve an Associate in Applied Arts, Computer Graphics, Web Design.

After completed my associates, I decided to continue my education and curiousity regarding web programming to pursue a degree in web development from Baker College Online. I anticipate graduating in Winter 2012.

I'm a nerd. Plain and simple. I love computers, I play video games and wonder what graphics program the artwork was created in, I watch a movie and I can't wait to try to recreate it's lighting style in photoshop. This is the stuff I live for.
